Poverty and dependence at their root have many causes, one of these being reliable access to quality medical care. Kenya Aid focuses on empowering a community by making health care accessible, where previously it has been inaccessible. We believe a healthy community will be more productive, and therefore have a better platform for education and economic development.
Quality health-care is a fundamental and enabling human right and Kenya Aid seeks to provide this in an environment that is free from prejudices of any kind, be they ethnic, political or religious, in a way that is sustainable and through involving the communities in which we operate.
We believe one of the essential keys to development is working closely with indigenous government. And we solely aim to provide a bridge between community need and government capability. With this in mind the long-term aim of our programs is to leave them in the hands of a community that has now been empowered with the knowledge and tools to be successful in service delivery.
Kenya Aid also believes strongly in the importance of implementing development projects that are sustainable. As such, Kenya Aid only conducts new initiatives that can be funded on a recurrent basis from its current level of income.
