Malaria Reduction Program

Malaria is a huge cause of morbidity and mortality in Kenya, especially in the Western Province of Kenya, where the clinic is situated. Kenya Aid has adopted the principles of the WHO’s Malaria Roll Back Program in designing our own malaria reduction program.

The cornerstones of this program are the use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITN), prompt diagnosis and effective treatment and intermittent preventative treatment (IPT) in pregnancy.

In keeping with Kenya Aid’s development philosophy we have added a fourth component, education, which has been mainstreamed across levels of Kenya Aid’s programs. For example, in order to receive a free ITN, which is available free for pregnant women and children under five, the mother must first attend a talk on how to properly use the net and when net re-treatment should occur.

Click here to donate a mosquito net today! At only $4 it is the cheapest way to prevent unnecessary deaths.
