The Kenya Aid team would like to thank all those in attendance for making the first annual Kenya Aid dinner an amazing success!

Hosted by the beautiful Long Reef Golf Club, the seaside location set the scene for a night filled with heart-warming fun and moving moments. I am sure that none of us will soon forget Matthew Smeal’s heartbreaking photographs, Onesmus Mmasi’s inspiring word’s or David Koch’s passionate enthusiasm.

Thanks to the generous donations of individuals and businesses, we were able to raise approximately $40,000 on the night (or 2.1 million Kenyan shillings)!

As as result of your support, this now enables Kenya Aid the opportunity to purchase land and fully finance the construction of the planned clinic. Construction for the clinic will begin in later this year and will hopefully be completed in early 2008! We will keep you up-to-date with its progress.

Special thanks goes to Holdsworth House Medical Practice who kindly donated $12,000; Frank and June Grozinkowsi who hired the Kenya Aid board for $2,700 for a days manual labour; Micheal Brennan for spending $1,500 on a date with the beautiful Miss World Australia 2007; and Sayers Consulting who pledged $1000.

We would like to thank all the sponsors for their generous donations, making the evening and auctions such a success. We would also like to thank David Koch and Miss Australia, Caroline Pemberton, once again for their support.

The journey has now begun to change the lives of many people who are in desperate need.
