Continued education and professional development are extremely important in the medical field.

To this end Kenya Aid actively encourages the clinic staff to keep up to date in current best practice guidelines.   The staff members are encouraged to attend a minimum of one training seminar per year that is paid for through the clinic.

Several members of the Kenya Aid governing body are practicing doctors and they continually keep the Shikungan clinic staff up to date with best current clinical practice. This is achieved through regular literature searches in medical journals and through ensuring that any changes in Kenyan Ministry of Health guidelines are instituted as soon as possible.
